Oregano is a herb which is used extensively in Italian and Mediterranean food. It’s a peppery herb that is pungent and sharp with a slightly bitter taste.
Oregano’s excellent flavours work very well alongside cilantro and cumin as well as just about any tomato dish. It compliments vegetables with dominant flavours such as chilli, pizzas, spaghetti sauces etc.
Tip: crush it in your hand prior to using to release the essential oils in it, reviving its flavour.
We’re not finished just yet - oregano is also used medicinally and has been for thousands of years. Try a tea with oregano to help aid digestion, bloating, flatulence, coughs, headaches and more! It can also assist externally with itching and swelling by grounding into a paste.
WOW! We <3 you Oregano.
