Rolled spelt is a whole grain food that tastes slightly nuttier and sweeter than wheat, and is more digestible. It’s part of the wheat family and therefore does contain gluten, however its high fibre and protein qualities makes it much easier to digest than modern wheat varieties.

Rolled Spelt can be used to make a nourishing porridge bowl, in baking, or anywhere else you would use rolled oats. Create your own muesli for breakfast time, add them to smoothies, or make delicious, warming porridge topped with chopped nuts and dried fruit. They are wonderful in home-baked bread and muffins and can be used in place of oats in the classic Anzac biscuit.

They are fabulous with shredded coconut and maple syrup as an irresistible fruit crumble topping – try pear and rhubarb, apricot, or raspberry and apple! Yummy.

Rolled spelt is considered by many, to be the tastiest of grains… do you dare to test this out yourself?
