Meet lupin flakes, the seriously tasty powerful crunch you’ve been looking for! Lupin flakes (Lupin) are made from little legumes that hail from the same family as chickpeas and lentils. They have a golden yellow colour, a slightly nutty flavour and a subtle fresh aroma.
Lupin flakes can be used in a myriad of ways, from breakfast to desserts, in baked and raw treats or savoury dishes, making them a very handy staple in the pantry. Lupin flakes are great for when you’re wanting to MYO muesli; either in a natural blend or oven-toasted in honey, maple syrup or apple juice for wonderful granolas. Add them to smoothies or make delicious warming porridge topped with chopped nuts and dried fruit.
It does have a slightly bitter, nutty taste so I find just one tablespoon in a single bowl of oats is a good balance.
Stay in the Lupe!
