Pearl Barley is barley that has had its hull and bran removed. It is relatively fast cooking and is soft and less chewy than other grains. It is rich in vitamins and nutrients and contains beta-glucan which slows digestion and promotes fullness which can assist in weight management.

It's a common ingredient in soups, salads, stews and stuffings. A healthy alternative to rice in sushi, curries and Mexican dishes. Use a good quantity of liquid when cooking and allow approximately 45 minutes for a tender yet slightly chewy grain.
